ABOUT

Matt Swick was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana but spent a large majority of his life in Warsaw and Peru, Indiana. He graduated from Maconaquah High School where he was an avid lover of music and played the flute for seven years, sparking his love for the arts. During high school, Matt developed a love for cosplay and sewing, which sparked his love for costume making and design.

After graduation, Matt attended Ball State University initially for elementary education, but shorty after arriving, he decided to switch to theatre design due to his love of costuming.

Matt has worked on several productions within the university, including being costume crew on Pericles, Price of Tyre and on The Nutcracker. Matt was also the assistant designer for a newer work called “The Giantmaker.” He doubled as the costume crew head for the show during its run in Strother Theatre at Ball State University.

As a designer, Matt wishes to push the boundaries of what costume design can be, and as a technician, Matt wishes to continue to improve his craft.
